Knee Problem

With only 37 days to go i am trying to shake off a knee injury. My illiotibial tract (aka IT band) is giving me grief on the outside of my right knee. Sarah Mead (sports therapist) has massaged the area and also given me some streching exercises to do as my quads are solid!! Another problem is that my current bike is too small!!! What a time to find out eh? Oh yes I need a new big bike and I'm hoping to get it on Monday. Watch this space for more news. Meanwhile I hope you will be coming to the Auction on Friday.

Car Wash Day - £850 raised!

Thank you to everyone who helped with the car wash and to all those people who came and had their cars washed (including the taxi's!), at Rewley Road (£600 raised) and Abingdon (£250 raised) Fire Stations. Sorry Drew about not supplying the hand cream!

Below are a couple of photos taken on the day (click for a larger version).

School Visit

I spoke to Gosford Hill School Year 11 on the 16th April about the cycle ride in June and the importance of wearing seatbelts at all times. The kids were so quiet and listened as I gave my presentation sitting on my bike (on a turbo trainer). I left a sponsor form but the teacher had just announced that the prom tickets were £35 this year!!

Auction

We are holding an Auction on 27th April (19:30 start) at Abingdon Fire station. Thank you to all those people who have donated items for auction. Come along and join us for a fun night. Our Chief has already put in an amazing bid of £100 for a tour of Rewley Road fire station and lunch with Green watch (Green watch are having a whip round at the moment to beat the bid!!).

Hi everyone

It's 52 days to go before we set off to Land's End. So much to do in the short space of time we have, but with all the support I've got we should be ready on 31st May. At the moment we're preparing for the auction on 27th April at Abingdon Fire Station, hopefully you'll be able to come along.
